Good morning, here is your dose of inspiration for the week!
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
I enjoy watching the television show “The Amazing Race.” Teams compete by receiving clues and racing to a destination to complete a task and then getting to the finish line for the next leg of the race. Some of the tasks are tedious and with obstacles making them hard to complete. But with perseverance teams often times complete the task. What intrigues me most about the show is teams never give up even if they’ve fallen behind in a task. They press on because you never know what the outcome will be once you cross the finish line!
God has called many of us to complete a task or tasks and the race may seem difficult or hard. Roadblocks and obstacles may get in the way but press on don’t give up. The Apostle Paul knew this all too well he faced many obstacles in his quest to spread the gospel.
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. Philippians 4:12-13
Pressing on with God’s purpose in our lives requires focus, determination and discipline as well as spending time with God the Father in prayer and studying His word. God has given us many gifts and talents to be used for the building of His Kingdom and impacting the lives of others. In what ways will you move/presss forward utilizing your gifts for the God’s purposes?
Prayer: Dear Lord, I am thankful that you have gifted me with abilities to change and impact lives. At times obstacles pop up and I’m not sure of how to move forward and fear stands in the way. But I will trust you to help me move past the things that hinder me and I ask that you give me the boldness and confidence I need in the days of ahead moving forward. In Jesus Name-Amen!
Have a blessed week.
